319 Grant

The LSWA has been awarded for a section 319 Nonpoint Source Pollution Grant the Federal Fiscal Year 2003.  Dick and Karen Norlin along with Mark Briggs wrote the grant and it is being sponsored by the Town of Millbury in conjunction with the LSWA.

The Grant provides funds for the Towns of Millbury and Sutton to improve the storm drains and storm water drainage along West Main Street, Singletary Road and West Sutton Road.  Our diagnostic Study and our Lake Management Plan both cite the need for these improvements.  This work addresses 30-50% of the siltation entering the Lake and could result in a 5% load reduction of suspended solids and nutrients.

Please join us in thanking the Towns for all of their support!

For more information on Nonpoint Source Pollution read the Massachusetts DEP Publication "Give Your Lake The Blues! Protecting Your Lake from Nonpoint Source Pollution."
